KHA works to confront and reshape the systems that drive people into crisis situations. Empowering individuals is only one part of the solution – systemic change requires collective action.
That’s why we launched the Housing Advocacy Collective (HAC) in 2023, a coalition of 10 local organizations and media partners united to address the unacceptable living conditions at Fox Ridge Apartments.
This initiative has resulted in sustained media attention and placed meaningful pressure on public officials and property owners to act.

To amplify tenant voices in shaping reform, we hosted a resident-led Listening Session, creating a safe platform for Fox Ridge tenants to share their lived experiences.
These narratives will serve as the basis for public accountability efforts and inform policy recommendations moving forward, ensuring that those most affected by housing injustice are at the center of driving meaningful change.
