We are thrilled to launch our new Transitional Housing program! Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, stable foundation for individuals and families to rebuild their lives. KHA Transitional Housing offers more than shelter; it offers hope, resources, and a path to permanent housing.
The Kalamazoo Housing Advocates Family Transitional Program is a new initiative designed to address the critical and rising need for safe, stable, and supportive housing for vulnerable families with young children in Kalamazoo County. This program will utilize a 10-unit facility located in the Edison Neighborhood, to serve 40-45 individuals at any given time, providing families with a structured, time-limited pathway toward long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency.
The lease will be operated by Lukeman Group, and operations will be managed by Kalamazoo Housing Advocates, this program moves beyond simple shelter, offering intensive on-site management and coordinated supportive services. Our core objective is to break the cycle of housing instability by providing a physical home along with the necessary resources (including education, job readiness, and mental health support) to ensure participating families successfully transition into permanent, affordable housing within a goal-oriented timeframe.
If you want to volunteer to help us get the home all set up and ready for clients to move in, please connect with Aiah on aiah@kalamazoohousingadvocates.org
